According to the HSLM events page, the Humane Society London and Middlesex is throwing a proper outdoor music fest this fall. Warm and Fuzzy Fest hits the Side Launch Beer Garden at 695 Sovereign Rd on October 11, running from 6 to 11 p.m.
Joel Plaskett headlines the evening, joined by Marty Kolls, Emily Garber, Daisy Chain, and Ollie Orr. It’s a strong mix of indie-folk and roots, spread across five hours of live music with craft beer from Side Launch and food available from Growing Chefs Ontario.
Emily Garber is worth knowing about if you haven’t caught her yet. The London-based singer-songwriter is a two-time Forest City Music Awards nominee who has performed at Aeolian Hall and the Home County Music Festival and opened for Jim Bryson and Matthew Barber. She’s currently recording her debut all-original album, Broken Home, produced by Bryson.
The event is co-presented by Side Launch and HSLM, with support from Royal Canin Canada, the Paul Seed Fund through the London Community Foundation, and booking and promotion by Oh MG! Productions. Raffle prizes and humane society engagement activities are also on the schedule.
Funds raised go directly toward HSLM’s animal welfare work.
Free parking is available on site, which, for an evening event in that part of the city, is a small but real bonus.
Tickets are available: General Admission standing is $40, and a limited VIP tier of 50 tickets is priced at $80. The venue is at 695 Sovereign Rd, London, ON N5V 4L5.
With Joel Plaskett on the bill and a five-hour window, the $40 GA ticket is a reasonable ask for a night that supports animal welfare and ends before midnight.
